Whiteside will start the second half of Tuesday's game against the Lakers, Joe Goodman of the Miami Herald reports. Whiteside has been putting up unexpectedly great numbers of late, which has led to coach Erik Spoelstra starting him to begin the second half of late. The rangy center put up 23 points, 16 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 29 minutes Sunday. If he maintains strong production, he'll likely challenge Chris Andersen for the starting spot, but for now Spoelstra said he'll stick with The Birdman to begin games, with Whiteside starting the third quarter.
