EDGE Analysis

Though he finally got his big payday this summer, Whiteside doesn't seem to be resting on his laurels, as he's been perhaps the most impressive player in the preseason. He's notched double-doubles in all three of his games in dominant fashion, averaging an astounding 19.3 points (on 71.4% shooting), 13.0 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in only 24.3 minutes per game. Whiteside is expected to see around 30 minutes on a nightly basis when the regular season begins, so it's possible that his gaudiest stat lines have yet to come.
