Whiteside got the better of an entertaining duel with standout center Joel Embiid (22 points, five rebounds and three blocks in 23 minutes), but with the Heat's backcourt failing to step up, the team took another loss to drop to 4-9 on the season. While the talent surrounding him as taken a major hit this season, Whiteside has proven worthy of the huge contract he received in the offseason.
