Whiteside scored 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 FT) while adding a game-high 15 rebounds, eight blocks and a steal in 33 minutes off the bench during Saturday's loss to the Celtics.
EDGE Analysis
He's already the first player in NBA history with multiple point-board-block triple-doubles off the bench in the same season, and Whiteside nearly picked up his fourth such TD on Saturday. His minutes are trending back up with Chris Bosh (calf) out of action again, and Whiteside is averaging a massive 19.5 points, 17.3 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in 33.8 minutes over the last four games. Perhaps the most impressive number over that stretch is his 77.8 percent (14-for-18) free throw shooting, well above his career 53.4 percent mark. If he can continue being effective from the charity stripe, he could be poised for a huge finish to the season.
