Whiteside (calf) will not play in Sunday's outing versus the Hawks, Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside made his preseason debut Friday, recording 12 points, nine rebounds and six blocks over 26 minutes. Despite looking good in that game, Whiteside will head back to the bench and take the night off to give further rest to his previously injured calf. Coach Erik Spoelstra is likey just being cautious with his center, as he doesn't want to rush him back and aggravate his calf injury. Whiteside should be considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Wizards as well.
