Coach Frank Vogel said Monday that Davis is dealing with common cold symptoms and still has some soreness in his right thumb, but the star big man participated in shootaround and will likely play Monday. LeBron James (abdominal) will remain out against the Hornets, so if Davis is available, the Lakers will likely rely on him early and often. The 28-year-old is averaging 23.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 blocks across 33.1 minutes to start the 2021-22 campaign.
