The Pistons assigned forward Vernon Macklin to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League on Sunday. With Charlie Villanueva back, Macklin was no longer needed to provide depth at the end of the bench. He is averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 19 games this season.
