The Nets are targeting Jason Collins in free agency, Yahoo! Sports reports. The 34-year-old center became the first active openly gay player in league and regardless of how many minutes he plays, he'll be a big story in mainstream media. Collins is a former Net and has a good relationship with coaches Jason Kidd and Lawrence Frank from his playing days. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were also ex-teammates of Collins. He'd serve as a defensive post presence for limited minutes on a team trying desperately to win now.
