Stokes (foot) was waived by the Nuggets on Tuesday, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.

Stokes barely beat out Robbie Hummel for the 15th and final spot on the Nuggets' regular season roster out of camp. However, he was never able to earn a spot in the team's regular rotation, as he played in just two games for a total of seven minutes. Adding on to that, Stokes was slated to miss a third consecutive game on Wednesday while dealing with a foot injury, so the Nuggets have opted to cut ties with him and he'll head to the free agent pool. Once healthy, Stokes could get a look elsewhere, but if not, the D-League could be his best option.
