Sources tell the San Antonio Express-News there was no defining showdown between Stephen Jackson and Gregg Popovich prior to the Spurs releasing Jackson. Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowki reported Friday that player and coach had been "sparring" throughout the season over Captain Jack's role with the Spurs. The Express-News seconded the report, saying Jackson simply wanted more minutes. Jackson is free to sign with any team but is not eligible to play in the postseason.
