Smart scored four points (2-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt) to go along with eight rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and one block across 31 minutes during the Celtics' 111-92 win against the Nets on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's eight rebounds were a season high, and he has now surpassed 30 minutes in eight of his 12 appearances in 2016-17. In seven contests coming off the bench, Smart is averaging 31.1 minutes per game compared to 33 minutes per game in five starts. The Celtics have dealt with a plethora of injuries to key guys thus far in Al Horford (concussion) and Jae Crowder (ankle), but with both of them back and Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley playing so well, it might be difficult for Smart to keep earning so much time on a nightly basis. However, having averaged 27.0 and 27.3 minutes respectively during his rookie and sophomore campaigns, the young guard is clearly an integral part of the club's core.
