Smart could be back as soon as Sunday, but later next week is more likely, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports. Smart suffered a severe ankle sprain early in November, and after several weeks of rest, he will be able to return soon. After Sunday, the Celtics have a small break where their next game will not occur until five days later on Friday. Boston will likely hold Smart out of that Sunday game in order to give him five more days of rest and practice before he makes his return to the court. When he returns, expect Smart to resume his statistical outputs of about 20 minutes and 6.8 points per game as he grows into the offense.
