Sixers coach Brett Brown said Friday that the team is hoping to reacquire Sampson, if he clears waivers, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sampson was waived Thursday to make room for deadline acquisition Joel Anthony on the roster, but the 76ers have made it clear that they'd like to retain Sampson, should he clear waivers. That's certainly no guarantee, however, and the team would need to need to make a move to waive another player in order to accommodate Sampson if he does clear waivers.
