Simons (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Kings, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.

Dennis Smith figures to be the primary backup to starting point guard Damian Lillard, but Tony Snell could also be in line for an increased role in Portland's backcourt.
