Mickey is dealing with a shoulder injury and won't play for the Celtics in the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mickey suffered the injury while attempting to block a shot during practice, and while it's not believed to be a major setback, it's disappointing that the 2015 second-round pick won't be able to show what he can do in summer league. Though he stands at just 6-foot-8, Mickey demonstrated in the D-League last season that he could be a force on the boards and a top-notch shot blocker, and he reportedly supplemented those skills by working on improving his three-point shooting and perimeter defense so far this offseason. It's now likely that Mickey won't have an opportunity to showcase his growth until training camp, when he'll try to claim a backup role in the Celtics' frontcourt.
