McDermott provided nine points (3-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds, two steals and one block across 25 minutes in Thursday's 115-108 preseason win over the Pacers.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott failed to convert on any of his three attempts from two-point range, but did offer his usual strong shooting from distance, which is the main reason he'll likely enter the upcoming season with a rotation spot in hand. With the Bulls rolling out a starting lineup that includes Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler -- all of whom are average or below-average shooters from long distance -- there should be plenty of reason for coach Fred Hoiberg to turn to McDermott off the bench in order to help the team stretch the floor. Look for him to see somewhere in the vicinity of 18-to-25 minutes per game.
