Matt Carroll said he will pick up his $3.5 player option for the 2012-13 season. The Bobcats strangely signed Carroll to a six-year, $27 million contract in July of 2007. As a fringe NBA player, exercising his option for next season is a no-brainer. Carroll has averaged just 11.6 minutes per game for the 7-56 Bobcats this season.
