Mahinmi (calf) has been upgraded to a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 3 against the Celtics, Jay King of MassLive.com reports.

Mahinmi was originally expected to miss his 10th straight game, but it appears he's made some unexpected progress and now has a chance of returning. Coach Scott Brooks did mention that if Mahinmi was ultimately cleared, he'd only play in short spurts and would see just a handful of minutes, as the Wizards would like to ease him back into the swing of things. Look for another update on his status at some point closer to tip, but a return from Mahinmi would likely cut into Jason Smith's playing time off the bench.
