The Cavaliers are expected to release Pangos in the coming days, as the 29-year-old guard is rumored to have an agreement in place with Russian club CSKA Moscow, Eurohoops.net reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a standout season with Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2020-21 in which he was named a first-team all-EuroLeague member, Pangos made the jump to the NBA. He signed a two-year deal with the Cavaliers ahead of training camp and was able to win a spot on the opening night roster, but Pangos has largely been an afterthought for Cleveland even after Ricky Rubio (knee) suffered a season-ending injury in late December before being traded to the Pacers on Monday. Pangos has appeared in just 23 of the Cavs' 54 games to date, averaging only 7.2 minutes per contest. The Cavaliers will presumably gauge interest in Pangos from other NBA teams ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but if he isn't moved, expect his release to come shortly thereafter.
