Laprovittola was able to claim a spot on the Spurs' 15-man roster heading into the regular season, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Laprovittola drew some attention for his play with Argentina in the 2016 Summer Olympic, and was able to carry over that success to training camp with the Spurs, impressing the team brass with how he was able to direct the offense. While Laprovittola doesn't profile as a long-term successor at point guard to the aging Tony Parker, he'll provide the team with some experienced depth at the position. That may allow rookie Dejounte Murray to see some more extended run in the D-League this season.
