EDGE Analysis
Knight will open the season as the team's sixth man as per head coach Earl Warren, but certainly provided a starting-quality performance Wednesday. The 24-year-old shapes up as one of the most talented bench players in the league heading into the season, given that he averaged 19.6 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 52 games in 2015-16 before a sports hernia prematurely ended his season. Knight will officially back up second-year standout Devin Booker at the two, but his ability to play both backcourt positions should still afford him one of the more robust allotments of playing time in the league for a bench player in the coming season.
