Hamilton did not receive a qualifying offer from the Timberwolves, making him an unrestricted free agent, NBA.com reports. Hamilton played well for the Timberwolves as an injury replacement this season, but with Karl-Anthony Towns drafted No. 1 this summer and Nikola Pekovic, Gorgui Dieng, and Anthony Bennett still on the team, there's little-to-no room for Hamilton in the frontcourt.
