Gobert made his first NBA start in place of Derrick Favors and produced a strong line in heavy minutes. He finished with seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 FT) nine rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in 31 minutes. Gobert has only really seen limited time on the court behind Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors, but he was able to flash some talent in those moments. Tonight he was able to hold down the paint defensively and showed some of the upside that had scouts salivating in the FIBA World Cup. However, as long as he's coming off the bench that upside is limited to stretches when the incumbent starters are injured.
