Gobert has played in five preseason games averaging 7.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 0.6 steals during 21.0 minutes on the court. Gobert may ultimately be the biggest benefactor of the coaching change in Utah from Ty Corbin to Quin Snyder. Corbin showed restraint from playing the defensive-minded Gobert during his rookie campaign, although Snyder's use of the French import during the preseason seems to suggest that he'll be an integral part of Utah's rotation. With the affirmed starters of Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter up front, Trevor Booker and Gobert will come onto the court with curbed roles off the bench.
