Gibson was waived by the Mavericks in late October, coming as a surprise considering he signed a three-year contract with Dallas, which fully guaranteed his first year. Gibson displayed his offensive ability during the Chinese Basketball Association in addition to the Las Vegas Summer League, but Dallas didn't seem to find a spot for him behind Deron Williams, J.J. Barea and Devin Harris until recent.
