Gasol will not travel with the team to Toronto for Monday's matchup with the Raptors due to a swollen knee, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first news we are hearing about Gasol's knee. He has been playing exceptionally well as of late, and is coming off an outing in which he posted 17 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks, and two triples in 30 minutes of action. The swollen knee likely occurred following that game, and the severity of the injury is currently unknown. The fact that he did not travel with the team is cause for concern, but they might just being cautious with their star big-man. Look for Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis to see a healthy increase in minutes and usage. While Gasol should be considered day-to-day going forward, expect him to miss at least a few games while he heals.
