Gasol had been running hot while receiving 28 or more minutes in each of the Spurs' previous seven games, but after he struggled early, the Spaniard's usage was limited as coach Gregg Popovich turned the center spot over to LaMarcus Aldridge and David Lee. It's possible Popovich may have been simply looking to preserve Gasol with the team finishing off a back-to-back set Saturday against the Wizards, so there's a decent chance the veteran could see his playing time tick back up in that contest.
