Gasol submitted 13 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-8 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block across 36 minutes in a 101-98 overtime win over the Pelicans on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Gasol saw his most minutes in the four games since he returned from a broken finger, but that was largely due to starting center Dewayne Dedmon fouling out with seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. It appears coach Gregg Popovich is content to keep Gasol in a bench role going forward, but that decision hasn't hindered the veteran's production much, as he's gotten comfortable with his standing as the alpha dog on the second unit. Gasol is averaging 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers, 1.5 assists and 1.3 blocks in 26.0 minutes over the last four games, numbers that stack up favorably with his season-long marks.
