Gasol registered 17 points (6-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, and one steal across 29 minutes during the Grizzlies' 93-85 win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
After sitting out Tuesday night's bout versus the Cavaliers for rest, Gasol returned to the lineup on Wednesday to notch his fifth double-double of 2016-17. While Gasol is posting the lowest rebounding numbers of his career, this likely has a lot to do with him becoming a tremendous outside shooter and spending less time plodding in the paint overall. Furthermore, Gasol is averaging career highs of 19.8 points, 4.1 assists, and 1.6 threes while providing his usual stellar defense, and he has been one of the better under-the-radar MVP candidates thus far for a surging Grizzlies team that's continuing to overcome injuries to Mike Conley (back) and Chandler Parsons (knee).
