Barton and the Nuggets are working toward a two-year, $32 million contract agreement, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

The belief all along was that the two sides would work together to keep the veteran wing in Denver, and it looks like that will ultimately be the case. While Barton has battled some injury issues in each of the last three seasons, he's remained a key cog for a Nuggets team looking to take the next step toward title contention. The 2012 second-round pick out of Memphis averaged 12.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.9 steals in 56 games last season. Barton has hit at least 37 percent of his three-point attempts in four of the last five seasons.
