Elton Brand started at center for the Mavericks on Thursday and had four points, five boards, one assist and one block against Golden State.

He shot just 2-of-7 from the field and got a heavy dose of Andrew Bogut. Brand has surprisingly been better with Dirk Nowitzki in the lineup, so he's probably the only frontcourt Dallas player that doesn't really gain value while Dirk recovers. Bernard James scored six points with eight boards, one steal and one block in 18 minutes off the bench. Brandan Wright also picked up 22 minutes, scoring nine points with three rebounds and three blocks. Wright and James are worth looks in deeper leagues with Chris Kaman and Dirk out.
