Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said prior to Sunday's 144-99 loss to the Cavaliers that Goodwin was unable to finalize a 10-day contract with Toronto after he was unable to pass his COVID-19 intake screening, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
After returning to action following the NBA's decision to postpone Toronto's game Wednesday against the Bulls, the Raptors had only eight players available after two of the players the team targeted for 10-day deals via hardship exemptions -- Goodwin and Nik Stauskas -- were unable to pass their respective screenings. Goodwin is thus expected to return to his G League club, the Westchester Knicks, once he clears the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
