Craig Smith said that he signed in Israel because he was "tired of being a roster filler." It's hard to blame him. "I didn't want to do that again," he said. "I can play and I want to play now. It's commendable that Smith wants to show what he can do, and there is no doubt that he'll have a larger role overseas, which could lead to a better opportunity stateside in the NBA in the future.
