Carroll scored 17 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with four rebounds and two steals across 33 minutes in Monday's 102-99 loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Carroll hadn't played more than 24 minutes in a game since Oct. 31 against the Nuggets, but coach Dwane Casey was willing to loosen the reins Sunday on the 30-year-old, who responded with a season-high scoring total. It's possible the decision to give Carroll expanded time may have been influenced by the fact that the team will finish off the second half of a back-to-back set Monday against the Clippers, so there's a good chance the veteran forward will be rested for that contest. Carroll has sat out one game in both of the Raptors' previous back-to-back sets, which allowed Norman Powell to enter the starting lineup.
