Barbosa erupted for 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four assists, two rebounds and two steals across 29 minutes in Friday's 119-115 win over the Lakers.
EDGE Analysis
Barbosa had hit double figures in the previous two games, but Friday's season-high point total was a surprising development, as he actually outpaced starting shooting guard Devin Booker in both scoring and minutes. The veteran should benefit from enhanced playing time while he remains on a relative hot streak, but Booker's minutes shouldn't suffer to this extent going forward. Instead, Barbosa will eat mainly into the playing time of fellow reserves Brandon Knight and Tyler Ulis.
