Anderson led all Spurs scorers off the bench with 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT) while contributing four rebounds, three assists, and two steals over 26 minutes in Thursday's preseason loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson benefited from the Spurs resting four of their key regulars (Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Boris Diaw), but nevertheless, it was nice to see the second-year swingman carry over the momentum from a huge Las Vegas Summer League performance that saw him come away with MVP honors. So long as the quintet of Parker, Ginobili, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, and Patty Mills remains healthy, it's difficult to envision Anderson parlaying his summer league and training camp achievements into a notable bench role right away this season, but it's probably safe to predict that any injury to one or more of those players will occur at some point. When that time comes, Anderson stands to gain a huge uptick in minutes, and thus, fantasy relevance.
