Sasser totaled eight points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), six assists, four steals, three assists and one block across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 110-101 loss to the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
With Alec Burks (forearm) sitting out, Sasser took on an expanded role in the Detroit rotation and ended up shining on both ends of the court. The rookie second-round pick out of Houston has made the most of his relatively sparse playing time to date, averaging 4.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 12.2 minutes over five appearances. Sasser's scoring output has been fueled by unsustainably high 58.8 percent shooting from the field, however, and his path to seeing more meaningful playing time appears muddled with Burks day-to-day and with veteran Monte Morris (quadricep) likely due back at some point in November.
