Nets head coach Steve Nash said Thursday that Edwards has entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edwards was one of three Nets rookies placed in the protocol Thursday, with Cam Thomas and David Duke joining him. On a fortunate note, Nash said that James Harden, Jevon Carter and Paul Millsap all cleared the health and safety protocols, but the Nets are still without the league-required eight available players, which prompted the postponement of Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers one day earlier. Brooklyn is still tentatively scheduled to play Christmas Day against the Lakers, but Edwards presumably won't be available for that contest and is likely to miss additional time beyond Saturday.
