Greg Oden has his weight down to the "low 270s," according to Chris Mannix of SI.com. He's back near his playing weight after being nearly 20 pounds heavier in 2010. The Heat signed Oden as a low-risk bet that he might contribute late in the season, and there's no reason to consider him on draft day. He has per-36-minute averages of 15.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in his brief NBA career, though that's nearly irrelevant since he's played 36+ minutes just twice since entering the league.

Greg Oden said he's not sure when he'll be able to play in an actual game. Oden said he chose the Heat over several other teams in part because they understood his need to be diligent with his recovery. According to Oden, it was "big deciding factor" that the Heat said he wouldn't be needed much early in the season. "When I had a conversation with Coach [Erik] Spoelstra and hearing how much he knew about the training stuff that I was already doing, it kind of made me feel like they know what's best for me," Oden said. "I'm not going to sit here and say I'm 100 percent. I am moving [well] and I am feeling good, but I have a lot of work to do." Time will tell if the former No. 1 overall pick can stay healthy.

Greg Oden agreed to a two-year deal at the minimum with the Miami Heat. Miami has been the favorite all along and with money not being a factor for Oden after his career has been full of injuries, he'll have a chance to compete for a championship in his first year back. The Heat also haven't had a real center in quite some time, so there is a chance he could get his fair share of minutes with the team. Oden is unlikely to be very active during the offseason and he'll be targeting training camp to show what he can do. He'll be an extremely risky pick in fantasy leagues and owners may want someone else to deal with him this season.

Free agent Greg Oden still plans to announce his decision Friday night. There's been a lot of unsubstantiated rumors that Oden has already chosen to sign with the Heat. There's no evidence that's true. The Mavs and Spurs are also considered front-runners, while the Hawks, Pelicans and Kings haven't been ruled out. Oden's agent reiterated to FOX's Chris Tomasson that his client's announcement will come at some point Friday night.

Updating a previous item, Greg Oden will decide on his new NBA team on Friday. The Heat, Kings, Hawks, Pelicans, Spurs and Mavs are believed to be the possible destinations. It's been a never-ending story, but since money isn't too big of a factor for Oden, it does make sense for him to exhaust all of his options and do his due diligence. He has a lot of talent, but his fragility makes him a risky pickup for NBA and fantasy teams alike.

Greg Oden's decision on where to play next season will likely come this weekend, his agent, Mike Conley, Sr., said Tuesday. Oden was expected to pick a team early this week, but Conley said he hasn't received any formal offers from any of the six interested teams. He also wouldn't say if an offer of the veteran's minimum would be enough to land the former No. 1 overall pick. Oden has reportedly looked good in solo workouts of late, but it remains to be seen if his body will hold up. The Heat, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, Hawks and Mavs are targeting Oden.

Greg Oden looks "quite lean [and] is moving quite well," according to sources who saw his workouts this week. It's one thing to look good in a solo workout, of course, and quite another to withstand the rigors of an NBA season. Six teams are known to be interested in him (the Heat, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, Hawks and Mavericks) and Oden is expected to pick a team as soon as Monday.

Greg Oden could sign an NBA contract as early as Monday, as he chooses between the Heat, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, Hawks and Mavericks. "There might be less pressure if he tries this with a team that's rebuilding," said his agent, Bill Duffy. "Then again, the quality of the medical staff will matter. Maybe a winning team has chemistry that's good or his role would be clearly defined." That brilliantly non-committal agent-speak could make a case for any of the six teams in contention for Oden, but we won't have to wait long to learn which one he chooses.

The Spurs, Hawks and Pelicans had reps at Greg Oden's latest workout in Indianapolis on Thursday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Oden will reportedly decide which team he'll sign with sometime within the next week. In addition to the three teams at his latest workout, the Mavs, Kings and Heat are also interested in the former No. 1 overall pick. The Hawks would likely represent the most immediate playing time for Oden, but the other teams could give him the chance to work his way back into the NBA slowly. Of course, this is all assuming his knees hold up through training camp, let alone an NBA season. Stay tuned.

Free agent Greg Oden will reportedly decide what team he'll play for this season some time within in the next week, according to Yahoo! Sports. Or should we say "attempt" to play for? Oden's well documented injury history is one of the more disappointing sports stories in recent years, as his legs and knees simply haven't been able to hold up in the NBA. He hasn't played since 2009 and is looking at joining the Heat, Kings, Hawks, Pelicans, Spurs and Mavericks, but will have to pass a physical before signing a deal. Oden worked out in Indianapolis on Tuesday and reportedly looked good, but even if he comes into the season fully healthy, he'll be a very risky player to look at before the later rounds of fantasy drafts. Having said that, the Hawks could really use a true center like Oden, if he's actually ready to play.
