Garcia (calf) was released by the Rockets on Friday, Yahoo! Sports reports. Garcia was removed from the roster to open a spot for Corey Brewer, who was acquired from the Timberwolves on Friday. He averaged a career-low 3.2 points in 14.3 minutes for the Rockets this season, but figures to get a look elsewhere.

Garcia was out again Thursday against the Pelicans, missing his fourth game in a row. Garcia sustained a calf injury on Dec. 6 and hasn't appeared in a game since then. The veteran should be considered day-to-day, since no timetable has officially been given for his return.

Garcia (calf) will not play in Saturday's game against the Nuggets, the Houston Chronicle reports. Garcia sustained his calf injury a week ago and still hasn't recovered quite yet. However, the Rockets have a decent break after Saturday's game as they don't play the second game of the home-and-home with the Nuggets until Wednesday.

Garcia (calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with Golden State. Garcia joins a laundry list of Rockets injuries, as Dwight Howard, Terrence Jones, Isaiah Canaan and Kostas Papanikolaou are all slated to miss Wednesday's contest, while James Harden remains banged up with a back issue. Without Garcia, the Rockets will likely turn to Nick Johnson for extra minutes off the bench.

Garcia (calf) is questionable to play Wednesday against the Warriors, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports. Garcia sustained the injury Saturday against the Suns and did not return to the game. He'll see how it feels at Tuesday's practice, after which a decision on his status for Wednesday will likely be made. The veteran has stepped into an expanded role of late, given the Rockets' current injury woes, and had played at least 15 minutes in each of his last seven contests prior to the Phoenix game.

Garcia will not return to Saturday's game against the Suns due to a right leg/ankle injury, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reports. Garcia is a bit player for the Rockets, but his absence will hurt their depth a bit. Houston is off until Wednesday's game against the Warriors.

Garcia (illness) returned to action Friday against the 76ers. He scored zero points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt) and grabbed two steals in 13 minutes of action. This was only Garcia's third appearance of the season, and most of the games he missed were CD-DNPs. He does not play enough, nor does he contribute enough when he does play, to be on the fantasy radar for most managers.

Garcia (illness) did not play in Wednesday's game, and his status for Friday's game is unknown at this time. Garcia missed practice with an illness Monday, but there have been no further reports on him to this point. Even when healthy, Garcia has played in just two games for the Rockets this season. When he is healthy enough to return, there's no guarantee he'll be in the rotation unless the Rockets suffer some injuries to their primary players.
