The Mavericks are said to be putting in a waivers claim on Eddy Curry and will then waive or trade Delonte West, who is suspended from the team again. Chris Kaman (calf) is iffy for the opener and Dirk Nowitzki is out (knee surgery), so the Mavs could use another big man. West has worn out his welcome in Dallas and is about to be cut, and it really doesn't matter who Curry signs with - he'll have no fantasy value.

Spurs waive Eddy Curry. Curry was surprisingly effective for the Spurs this preseason, and there was some thought that he'd make the team, but it wasn't to be. We expect him to resume searching for a spot at the end of an NBA bench.

The Spurs are deciding whether to keep Eddy Curry or former Bobcats F Derrick Brown with their final roster spot. "Eddy lost 20 pounds to come to camp, and he's played through being tired, which has always been a bugaboo for him in the past," said Gregg Popovich, who doesn't praise players without cause. "He's worked very hard, and he's done a lot of good things." Curry has been surprisingly good this preseason and seems likely to beat out Brown, Josh Powell and Wesley Witherspoon.

Eddy Curry looked good in 19 minutes off the Spurs bench on Sunday, making all five of his shots to finish with 10 points, three rebounds, two steals, two blocks and zero turnovers. For once there's no punchline. Curry's ability to defend remains seriously in doubt, but he's a bulldozer in the low post and if there's one coach who can whip him into shape, it's Gregg Popovich. The Spurs have one roster spot remaining, and it's possible they'll keep Curry on board.

Eddy Curry was effective on Wednesday with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting while pulling down eight boards in 25 minutes. Curry has never really been able to put it together and perhaps Pop can get him in line. Obviously, Curry needs a lot more than 25 minutes of encouraging evidence to warrant a pick in fantasy drafts.

Eddy Curry will be in training camp with the Spurs. Curry got his first championship ring with the Heat last season, but he generated no interest on the open market outside of a workout with the Nets. It would be quite entertaining to see Curry and Gregg Popovich endure an entire season together, but Curry will really have to show something special in camp to stick.

The Nets are working out Eddy Curry and Hilton Armstrong on Wednesday. Brooklyn is looking to add a veteran center and small forward, but both Curry and Armstrong are likely vying for a training camp invite. Even if one winds up on the roster, neither will sniff fantasy value.

Eddy Curry is active and available for the Heat on Thursday night. Of course, with Chris Bosh (ab strain), Udonis Haslem (suspension) and Dexter Pittman (suspension) all out tonight, the Heat will be desperate for big bodies. However, that doesn't mean Curry is guaranteed to play tonight. He last saw action on April 26, when he started the season finale for the Heat.

Eddy Curry started in Thursday's season finale against the Wizards, scoring 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting with four rebounds and a block in 24 minutes. That should tell you about how this night went for the Heat. Mario Chalmers played 17 minutes and scored eight points with two assists and no threes, Mike Miller had eight points and one three, Udonis Haslem went for six and four with a steal and block, Shane Battier hit one trey for three points with three steals, and Norris Cole added 14 points off the bench in the 34-point loss.

Eddy Curry (personal) has returned to the Heat. Curry isn't part of Miami's rotation, and most owners probably didn't even know he was gone.
