Carlos Arroyo has agreed to terms with Besiktas Milangaz. Arroyo couldn't find an opportunity he liked stateside so decided to head overseas instead. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him back in the league at some point, but he should never be a starting point guard in the NBA again.

Beat writer Michael Cunningham wrote Saturday that free agent Carlos Arroyo could be a good "stop-gap solution" to the Hawks' backup PG position. The Hawks clearly aren't totally comfortable with Kirk Hinrich's shoulder injury, but we don't want to make a huge deal over it. Current second-year backup PG Pape Sy has no experience and that's what the Hawks are trying to guard against. Nevertheless, Jeff Teague is going to be the prohibitive favorite for starter's minutes all season long.

Carlos Arroyo has expressed his interested in joining the Knicks. It's unclear if the interest is mutual, but the Knicks could use a backup PG and the veteran could potentially be a consideration. Arroyo played for Miami and Boston last season, averaging 4.8 points and 2.0 assists per game.

Carlos Arroyo continued to lead Puerto Rico in their 79-74 win over Canada on Tuesday, scoring 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting with three rebounds, four assists, and a steal. He has had a great tournament, scoring 16.5 points per game while hitting 48% of his 3-pointers. Oddly enough, Puerto Rico relies on him as their No. 1 scorer and he has done a fine job, but this isn't a career renaissance by any stretch of the imagination.

Updating a previous item, Carlos Arroyo has denied rumors that he is in negotiations with Cantu of the Italian League. Via text message, Arroyo said, "I don't know anything about that rumor. I don't know what to say, I'm on vacation." It appears that Arroyo has his sights set on the NBA once the lockout ends.

Carlos Arroyo is negotiating with Pallacanestro Cantu of the Italian League. Arroyo wouldn't garner much interest on the open market as a free agent in the NBA right now, and it's possible he stays overseas even if the lockout gets lifted, although that's looking unlikely to occur anytime soon.
