Since his return to action, McDermott has failed to make a consistent impact despite a few standout scoring performances. Unsurprisingly, coach Gregg Popovich continues to confound by sticking with McDermott instead of promoting Devin Vassell, who is vastly outperforming McDermott at the position.

McDermott ended with 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt) and two rebounds across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 118-96 victory over the Thunder.

This was the first time since Oct. 23 in which McDermott has reached the 20-point mark, as the Creighton product played well and posted double figures offensively for a second straight matchup. McDermott also got back on track by drilling six threes which was one short of tying a season best.

McDermott was back in the starting lineup for the second straight game after missing seven straight contests, but he wasn't able to do much with his 23 minutes of action. The sharpshooter had a nice run last month -- 12.8 PPG, 2.2 3PM/G from Dec. 2 to Dec. 27 -- but when he's not knocking down threes at a high-volume clip, he offers very little fantasy value.
