McDermott posted his best scoring performance since Dec. 19 against Houston, and he did so by shooting the ball with efficiency. He knocked down 71.4 percent of his attempts from the field and two of three from downtown. He also notched his first block since Dec. 17 and his first steal since Nov. 26.

McDermott made the most of some lackluster defense by scoring 16 points off the bench, the most he has tallied in almost four weeks. While he's had a couple of moments of relevance this season, the Spurs seem more interested in giving minutes to their young pieces. Barring a shift in mindset, McDermott can be safely left on the wire in all competitive leagues.
