Watson (calf) played eight minutes off the bench Friday and recorded one rebound.
EDGE Analysis
Friday marked Watson's first game-action since Nov. 9, and although his fantasy impact was minimal, it's an encouraging sign nonetheless that the veteran is back in action for the Magic. When Watson was playing earlier in the season, he was averaging 19.4 minutes per game, but it's unlikely that he'll reclaim that type of playing time in the near future after such a lengthy absence. He'll likely continue to be an end-of-the-bench option for the Magic for the time being.

Watson (calf) practiced in full Wednesday and went through 5-on-5 drills, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson hasn't played in a game since Nov. 9 due to a nagging calf injury, so it is pretty substantial that he was able to fully practice Wednesday. This news could mean a return to action in the next one or two games for Watson, but it is wise to temper expectations for the eighth year player for his first couple of contests. The Magic organization just traded small forward Tobias Harris to the Pistons in exchange for Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova, shaking up the entire depth chart. It is plausible to predict that Watson would slide into the backup two guard role behind Victor Oladipo and moving Evan Fournier to small forward, but only time will tell for sure.

Watson (calf) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
Although the Magic will keep Watson active for the first time since mid-November, his return to action will be delayed until after the All-Star break. It sounds like Watson is fully recovered from the long-term hamstring injury (or close to it), but the upcoming week-plus break in the Magic's schedule will prompt the team to proceed cautiously. Shabazz Napier will continue to serve as the team's top backup at point guard, though Watson could conceivably claim that role when he makes his return in the second half.

Coach Scott Skiles said that Watson (calf) has a strong chance to play Wednesday against San Antonio, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson has been dealing with soreness in his left calf for some time now. Having returned to practice in the last few weeks, it is probable that he will return to game action Wednesday. The veteran averaged just 19 minutes a contest before his injury, making his fantasy value minuscule.

Watson (calf) is able to do spot shooting but still hasn't been cleared to run, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson has been without a timetable for a return while dealing with soreness in his left calf, and his updated status still suggests there's no concrete timeline for a return to live action. The veteran averaged 19 minutes in the first eight games of the season before sustaining the injury but his eventual comeback will likely come with a minutes restriction.

Watson (calf) remains without a timetable for a return.
EDGE Analysis
The Magic have insisted all along that Watson is only dealing with a sore calf rather than a more severe injury to his leg, but the ailment has still managed to keep him on the sideline since mid-November. His return doesn't appear imminent, giving Shabazz Napier plenty of security in his role as the Magic's backup point guard.

Watson's (calf) return to game action doesn't appear imminent, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson will sit out a 21st consecutive game Wednesday against the Rockets due to a left calf injury that has been far more persistent than the Magic initially anticipated. The veteran point guard experienced swelling on his left knee after he was cleared to increase his activity earlier this month, and it appears that setback has put his return date in flux. Watson said the swelling has since subsided a bit, but he continues to feel pain in the upper area of the calf and near the back of the knee. With the 31-year-old out indefinitely, the Magic will rely on Shabazz Napier and Victor Oladipo to initiate offense for the second unit.

Watson (calf) remains out for Friday's game against Portland, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Magic have not provided much in the way of updates on Watson, but he's still dealing with pain in his left calf, and Friday will mark his 18th straight absence. Continue to consider Watson out indefinitely until Orlando says otherwise.

Watson (calf) will not play Friday against Cleveland, Joshua Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson has been sidelined for over a month due to a calf injury, and though he'll sit out Friday, Robbins reports that the veteran guard has been ramping up his activity in practice. He'll likely remain out until the team decides that he is game-ready from a conditioning standpoint, but it appears that he is inching closer to a return.

Watson (calf) took part in some non-contact portions of Monday's practice, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran guard has been sidelined for the Magic's last 12 games, but his activity during Monday's session suggests a return to action could finally be around the corner. It's not expected, however, that he'll be available off the bench for Tuesday's date with the Nuggets.
