Silva has flirted with double-doubles in two of his last three games and looks to have at least temporarily secured a spot in the Heat's frontcourt rotation ahead of James Johnson, who didn't play Saturday in a coach's decision. The undrafted rookie has provided some impressive per-minute production and has shot efficiently from the field and the line in a small 12-game sample, so he could have some fantasy appeal in the event starting center Bam Adebayo misses time at any point.

Silva supplied eight points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 117-108 win over the Pistons.

EDGE Analysis

Silva contributed career highs across most statistical categories, as he stepped up with Bam Adebayo fouling out. Of course Silva fouled out as well, but not before stuffing the stat sheet. Still, Silva has been used sparingly in the early portion of the campaign and isn't likely to hold much value beyond the deepest leagues.

Silva is only battling a cold, but it was enough to keep him out of shootaround. In the unlikely event that Silva ends up being inactive, it will not count against the games limit on his two-way contract.

EDGE Analysis

The undrafted rookie secured one of the Heat's two-way contract on the heels of a strong preseason and has played his way into coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation as the backup center for the past two games. Though he turned the ball over three times Tuesday, Silva made a mark on the defensive end for the second straight contest. Despite his early success, Silva may not have much longevity as a regular on the second unit, however, as he'll only be eligible to spend up to 45 days in the NBA while he remains on a two-way deal.
