After a period of fantasy stardom, Boucher has come crashing back to earth in recent times. He is by no means a drop in standard formats, but the expectations we had only two weeks ago, clearly need to be adjusted at this point.

Boucher has averaged just 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 assists in 23.3 minutes across the past four games.

After a strong stretch of six games in which Boucher was averaging over 20 points and three blocks, he's come crashing back down to earth. That's partially due to the reemergence of Aron Baynes, who's averaged 17.0 minutes across the past four games while putting up decent numbers. It's possible Boucher's workload and production will continue to fluctuate moving forward.

Boucher's Jan. 8 double-double (23 points and 10 rebounds at Sacramento) commenced a cycle of great games from him. He's averaged 20.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks since then. The Raptors often started Alex Len or Aron Baynes at center in those games before they let Boucher log a bench-leading average of 29.0 minutes from that position.

Boucher also averaged 5.8 defensive rebounds and 3.2 blocks during that span. He could be either a capable sixth man or one of the team's starters if able to retain this productivity.

Boucher went above and beyond in the win Thursday. The forward went 62 percent from the floor and tied his season-high in grabs. Boucher is truly stepped up his play in the past few matches and is quickly becoming the lead man of the secondary-unit in Toronto. He is certainly a viable option moving forward as he gains more minutes with his excellent play.

Boucher had 20 points (7-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, three blocks and one assist in Monday's 112-111 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Boucher's five threes made and eight threes attempted both marked career highs for the now 28-year-old. He's been a revelation as Pascal Siakam's direct backup, averaging 14.3 PPG while shooting 47.2 percent from deep.

When Boucher plays at least 20 minutes in a game, he has gone for at least 15 points in four of six games while adding at least five rebounds in each instance.

Boucher has been Toronto's biggest offensive threat off the bench, and he showed that once again with a dominant performance -- he posted his second double-double of the year while surpassing the 20-point mark for the third time in the current campaign. Boucher remains a bit inconsistent on a game-to-game basis, but his role as a defined scoring asset off the bench for the Raptors is clear, and he should remain productive as long as he keeps seeing enough minutes.

Boucher continues to vastly outperform Aron Baynes, but his role has been limited off the bench through the Raptors' first seven games. When the workload is there, Boucher is a high-level blocks contributor who also adds points, rebounds and threes.

EDGE Analysis

Toronto's biggest question mark is at center, but the ultimate goal is to get Boucher into the starting lineup. At 6-9, he's a little undersized for the role, which is why Aron Baynes and Alex Len are on the roster. He won't supplant Pascal Siakam anytime soon, so he's the logical future choice at the five, and his performance on Saturday is evidence of his explosive potential. A possible outcome could be a frontcourt tandem of Siakam and Boucher on nights where there isn't a significant size mismatch. In any case, Boucher should be worthy of a roster spot in all formats due to his increase in usage.
