Ben Wallace (undisclosed) will be inactive for Monday's game against the Pacers. Wallace isn't known to be injured, so this is likely a case of the Pistons wanting to get a look at Vernon Macklin. The second-round rookie will back up Greg Monroe at center.

Ben Wallace returned to action with zero points and three rebounds in 14 minutes vs. the Raptors on Sunday. Big Ben has been reduced to a bit player whose primary value is leading by example both on and off the court (recent DUI and gun charges notwithstanding, of course). He's still unsure whether he'll retire after this season.

Ben Wallace, who missed Thursday's game due to a death in the family, will be available on Sunday. He's not a option in any fantasy league, but it's good to see him back nonetheless.

Ben Wallace said that he will retire after this season. Wallace was on the fence about retiring after last year, but decided to give it another go at age 37. He's playing just 14.1 minutes and averaging 1.0 points per game this year.

By playing 12 mintes off Detroit's bench on Sunday, Ben Wallace tied Avery Johnson for the most games played by an undrafted player since the NBA/ABA merger. Big Ben has appeared in 1054 games and will hold the record after Tuesday's game vs. the buying though Spurs. The four-time Defensive Player of the Year has said that he'll retire after this season.

Ben Wallace has replaced Jonas Jerebko in the Pistons' starting five. It sounds like coach Lawrence Frank actually wants to roll with the 37-year-old Wallace as a starter going forward. The plan is to play Big Ben the first six minutes of each half and then spot him a few minutes in the second and fourth quarters. The chances of Wallace staying healthy or producing at reasonable levels are really slim. He hasn't played more than 28 minutes per game since the 2007-08 season.

Ben Wallace recently told Chris Mannix of SI.com that he will retire after this season. Wallace is 37 years old and has a diminishing role on the quasi-rebuilding Pistons, and he's been considering retirement for a while now. He is a four-time Defensive Player of the Year whose relentless energy enabled him to average 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game in the 2001-02 season (to go along with his usual 42% FT shooting).

Ben Wallace has received one year of probation for charges of drunken driving and gun possession. Wallace avoided jail time, which was expected. He'll have to do 30 hours of community service and pay $2,700 in fines in addition to the probation.

Ben Wallace feels that he played too many "consecutive minutes" last season, and that he cooled off by resting for too long. Wallace often played much if not all of the first and third quarters, then saw much less action in the second and fourth. Expect coach Lawrence Frank to do a better job of alloting time to the tough veteran center.

Ben Wallace appeared before a judge on Tuesday and entered guilty pleas to charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a firearm while operating a vehicle when intoxicated. Both charges are misdemeanors that carry a maximum jail sentence of up to 93 days, and given Wallace's cooperation and clean record, it doesn't sound like he'll see any jail time. However, his fantasy value was already on the ropes, and this might have been a knockout blow.
