The Thunder have all but ruled Roberson (kneecap) out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs, Royce Young of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson hasn't appeared in a game at any level since Jan. 27, 2018, with the defensive ace enduring multiple setbacks in his recovery from surgery to repair a ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee. The Thunder were hopeful that Roberson would be ready to test out his knee in rehab games with the G League's Oklahoma City Blue, but that's no longer a possibility with the Blue's season having come to an end. As a result, Roberson won't have an opportunity to prove his health outside of practices, but coach Billy Donovan noted that the Thunder medical staff has given no indication the 27-year-old is "anywhere near" a return to game action. Roberson would have to demonstrate significant improvement and the Thunder would have to enjoy a deep postseason run for him to even have a slight chance at playing in 2018-19.

Coach Billy Donovan said Thursday that Roberson (kneecap) has yet to resume on-court activities, Brett Dawson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's fairly concerning that Roberson isn't even going through light drills after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in late May, but Donovan said he remains optimistic the wing will contribute at some point this season. Even if Donovan's prediction comes to pass, Roberson won't represent much of a fantasy asset. Over his 39 appearances in 2017-18, Roberson shot an excellent 53.7 percent from the field but averaged only 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks in 26.6 minutes per game.

Coach Billy Donovan indicated Monday that Roberson (knee) is not close to returning to game action, Brett Dawson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson is in the midst of a lengthy recovery process since he initially suffered a leg injury in January of 2018. He's coming up on a full year since his last game (Jan. 27), and his rehab has already entailed a few setbacks. Donovan told reporters that the Thunder remain confident that Roberson will be back before the end of the season, but at this point getting the defensive-minded wing back at any juncture before the postseason would feel like a victory.

Roberson (kneecap) suffered an avulsion fracture in his left leg Thursday and will be reevaluated in six weeks, Brett Dawson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson continues to endure multiple setbacks during his recovery from knee surgery and will take at least the next six weeks to heal the left leg avulsion fracture. Roberson apparently suffered the injury when he fell awkwardly during a workout Thursday. Once the injury heals, Roberson will be reevaluated and it's possible that he will be tagged with a timetable for a return. The Colorado product has been sidelined since scoring five points against the Pistons last season in January.

EDGE Analysis
Roberson's injury continues to heal as expected, and this issue appears to be a minor setback. He'll be evaluated in two months to determine the next step in his rehab.

Roberson (knee) said he hopes to be cleared to return to action before December, Brett Dawson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson is in the latter stages of his recovery from a torn patella tendon, but the Thunder will continue to bring him along gradually given the rather severe nature of the injury. Oklahoma City is prepared to be without Roberson for at least the first month-and-a-half of the regular season, which equates to roughly 20 games. Roberson, himself, indicated that even if he's cleared before December, it might take until around Christmas for him to be "back to my elite self on the defensive end."

Roberson (kneecap) will take part in non-contact portions of training camp, Royce Young of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson isn't expected to be ready for the season opener, but there appears to be a chance he's back before his original target for a return in December. "We don't think we're going to be without him very long," Thunder GM Sam Presti said. Look for additional updates to be provided as he ups his activity over the coming month or so, but everything seems to be trending in the right direction despite the team refusing to give a concrete timetable. For the duration of Roberson's absence, some combination of Dennis Schroder, Raymond Felton, Alex Abrines and Terrance Ferguson should cover his minutes, with Schroder being the most intriguing fantasy asset.

Roberson (kneecap) hasn't been cleared for contact or 5-on-5 work, David Aldridge of TNT reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson had previously reported that he hoped to be back to full strength by December, so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that he isn't ready for contact in mid-September, more than two months beforehand. While the Thunder certainly want their top defender back as soon as possible, he won't be rushed into action and is still likely looking at missing at least the first month or two of the season barring any surprising developments in his recovery. Adding on to that, Roberson's value comes on the defensive side of the ball, so he'll struggle to provide significant fantasy value even when he's at full strength. With Roberson sidelined to start the season, Dennis Schroder will likely be the most intriguing fantasy asset that should benefit, while guys like Raymond Felton, Alex Abrines and Terrance Ferguson could see added minutes as well.

Roberson (kneecap) acknowledged last week that he's expecting to be 100 percent healthy by December, Joe Buettner of Fox 25 News Oklahoma City reports. "Sitting out a whole year away from a high level of basketball is going to be tough in terms of coming back," Roberson said. "I'm not really putting a particular time on it, but I want to come back to myself somewhere in like December. So, it'd be great if it happened before. Christmas, that'd be great."
EDGE Analysis
Roberson previously suggested that he hoped to be a full participant in training camp, but that was always going to be an ambitious goal after he required surgery to repair a left patellar tendon in January, followed by a scope of the same knee in May. Considering he has yet to crack an average of seven points per game in any of his five seasons in the NBA, Roberson isn't much of an asset in the fantasy realm, but he'll likely see a sizable role once healthy due to his standing as the Thunder's top perimeter defender. While Roberson is likely on the sideline for the first month or two of the season, Dennis Schroder, Raymond Felton, Alex Abrines and Terrance Ferguson are the top candidates to handle most of the minutes alongside Russell Westbrook.

Roberson (knee) is hoping to be ready for the start of training camp, Brett Dawson of the Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberson had season-ending knee surgery performed in January to repair a ruptured left patellar tendon and then also had an arthroscopic scope in May to lessen some swelling in his knee. It's been roughly one and a half months since that scope and it appears everything is going as expected in Roberson's rehab. The 26-year-old was able to put up some "slight jump shots" recently and also did some ball handling drills. Roberson hoped to start running on an AlterG anti-gravity treadmill earlier this week, though it's unclear if that ultimately took place. While the Thunder have remained clear that they're going to take a cautious approach with Roberson's rehab, there's still appears to be a chance he's ready to go by the start of training camp. If not the start of training camp, Roberson is fully expected to be healthy for the start of the regular season.
