Andray Blatche traveled to the Philippines on Sunday and is expected to stay for a couple days. He met with national team coach Chot Reyes and is expected to play in the FIBA World Cup in Spain. Interestingly, Blatche is not of Filipino descent, so this has been one of the stranger stories of the offseason. He will opt out of his deal and become an unrestricted free agent next season.

The 27-year-old averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks during the 2013-14 regular season and has some deeper league fantasy potential if he can find a team who will give him more minutes than the 22.2 he averaged with the Nets this season.

Blatche became the first Nets player to double-double off the bench in the playoffs since Armen Gilliam did it back in 1994. The Nets haven't exactly looked great over the last few weeks, but then again, maybe they just weren't trying. The Raptors have surely taken notice at how things have gone down, and their first-round match up should be fun to watch.

Jason Kidd said before the game that he may shorten his rotation for the playoffs, excluding one of the Nets' centers, and tonight's game suggests that Blatche is low man on the totem pole below Kevin Garnett (19 minutes) and Mason Plumlee (26 minutes).

Perhaps a report will trickle in that Blatche was too sick to play or simply being rested, but that's not a foregone conclusion at this point and we're taking him off the injury report. Mason Plumlee has been outplaying Blatche and it's kept his minutes down to just 22.9 minutes per game since the break. He's a low-end play tonight in a decent matchup.

Andray Blatche (illness) will not play against the Magic on Wednesday. He was a game-time decision about 10 minutes prior to this update and he must not be feeling well at all. This will be his second game out of the lineup and the Nets will likely use plenty of Mirza Teletovic in the starting lineup. Mason Plumlee could also help out on the bench. Blatche should be considered questionable for Friday.

Andray Blatche won't play on Tuesday due to an illness. Like the news of Josh Smith's patella soreness, this came out of nowhere, and much too late for owners to do much about it. Why these types of issues aren't made public earlier remains a concern, especially when fantasy championships are on the line. With Kevin Garnett also out tonight, Mason Plumlee and Mirza Teletovic should be poised for good things tonight.
